Stott Cemetery
The Stott Cemetery is located 100 yards to the left of house at #31 Beasley's Bend Road just south
of Riddleton. The cemetery is under trees in a pasture and not maintained. Stones are all down.

There are several above ground crypts and many fieldstones.

*Note: William A. Stott was a prominent citizen of Riddleton and taught school there for
many years at the "Black Gnat Academy". He was a veteran of the Mexican War and also
served in the Confederate Army in Co. B, 7th Tenn. Inf..

** Note: Eliza Bruce Payne Stott was one of 12 children born to Isac Newton Payne and
Sallie Ann Roe in the area of Smith County called Payne's Bend. See Smith Co Tennessee
History page 647 for information on this family.
