Rock Springs Cemetery
The Rock Springs Cemetery is located on Hwy. 96 in Putman County between
Hwy. 70 near Chestnut Mound in Smith County and I-40 at Buffalo Valley in
Putman County. The church was once Rock Springs Methodist Church but now
its called Faith Chapel. The cemetery is still active.

John Rankin Denny and wife Ada Scruggs Denny
This is called a tent type grave- they are prevalent in the upper Cumberland area and
this is the western edge of their use-This concrete version is more modern and the
earlier ones used big stones - We know of only three of this type in Smith Co.
