Wiley Mason Cemetery
This stone crypt located in Riddleton across the road from the post office has previously been
listed on this website as unknown (2002). However, thru research by Allen O. Mason in deed books,
estate records and interviews with older citizens of the community it has been determined
that this is the burial place of the Wiley Mason family.
Wiley Mason was born 31 Jan 1785 in Virginia and died at Riddleton in Smith County ca.1843.
Wiley was a veteran of the War of 1812 and a saddlemaker by profession. The two other graves
are thought to be his wife Rebecca and a child. His old homeplace which was nearby has not survived.
