Johnathan Griffith Cemetery
The Jonathan Griffith Cemetery is located in DeKalb County east of Alexandria one mile off Highway
70S behind the house of Lewis Fuson at 1140 Henley Hollow Road. Mr. Fuson lives in a house built
in the 1850's and inside the nearby barn is the original two story log house of the Griffiths. The
cemetery of Moses Griffith is located about 1/4 mile east on next farm. This area was part of Smith
County prior to 1837. Jonathan Griffith is listed in 1820 & 1830 census of Smith County.

Jonathan GRIFFITH b. 19 Nov 1782 d. 31 Oct 1848

The graveyard is on the original GRIFFITH farm (land grant/deed?) located 2 miles west at Forks of
the Pike old store. Go down that road on the left of the store, around bends , and the graveyard is
located on a hill to the right of the Fuston farm(it was the Fuston Farm in 1970) This farm was in
Smith Co and then the area became Dekalb Co.

This original farm was divided and parceled out to make two other farms(which were sold to, or
given to(?) Jonathan's sons as they established their own families.

These pictures were made in 1970 and there are other burials there unknown to me.
I am ggg granddaughter of Jonathan and Elisabeth GRIFFITH.
