The Bailey Graveyard
The Bailey Graveyard is located in Wilson Co. three-tenths of a mile from the Smith/Wilson Co. line.
It is located near the end of McKee Lane which runs parallel to Interstate 40. The old Bailey farm
shown in the background of the photos has now been tracted and many new homes built.

Many unmarked graves.

(Note: We feel that possibly all the names listed except Jonathan Bailey are Afro-Americans,
many with the Bailey surname. Jonathan Bailey owned 42 slaves in the 1860 Slave Census and
it was not unusual for the slaves to take their masters surname.)

Partial listing in Smith County Tennessee Cemeteries-South of the Cumberland River (1984) page 43.
