The following letter addressed to James A.Roberts of this place by Charles I. Miller of Co. B 13th Wisconson Vol. Inftry. gives the highest evidence of a purely and strictly honest man. It is equal to a text of Scripture in its moral worth, deserves to be considered and universally emulated. Read and see what an honest man will do.

Green Lake TX, Aug 4 1865.
James A. Roberts: Sir. When the 3d division went to that place, if you remember you trusted a soldier for a paper of tobacco, and he told you he thought they were to be paid there and that was what we were told, but now I have a chance for the first time to send it to you, and express my thanks to you.
Yours Truly,
Charles A. Miller
Co. B 13 Wis. V. I. 3d. brig. 3d di. 5 AC.

A mad bull broke loose the other day in St. Louis, dashed down one of the main streets, goring several people as he passed, and, at the corner of Sixth and Walnut streets, charged on General Sherman and his Adjutant. The General made a successful flank movement and escaped, while the Adjutant retired behind strong fortifications, narrowly escaping.
