     McNairy County, Tennessee Deed Book V, pp. 149-150 10 March 1893

     JAMES A. EVANS and wife  to  R. W. O'NEAL

     Deed, 96 acres

     For and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fourteen
     dollars paid by R. W. O'NEAL as follows:  $114.00 in cash the
     receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged 

     and $___ by note made by ___ which notes ___ as follows same to
     secure and make certain thepayment of which note as deferred
     payments a lien is hereby expressly reserved and retained on the
     land hereinafter described and conveyed until the whole principal
     and interest is paid,

     have bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey unto R. W.
     O'NEAL the following described land in McNairy County, State of
     Tennessee:

     Beginning on a black jack and 2 black jack pointers, then West 160
     poles to a chestnut and red oak pointers, then North 148 poles to a
     white oak and elder pointers, then East 160 poles to the beginning,
     containing 96 acres more or less.

     To have and to hold the said land with the appurtenances and
     improvements therunto belonging to the said R. W. O'NEAL, his heirs
     and assigns forever.  And we covenant with the said R. W. O'NEAL
     that we are lawfully seized of said land [and] have a good right to
     convey it and that it is unencumbered.  And we do further covenant
     and bind ourselves, heirs and representatives to warrant and forever
     defend the title to said property to the said R. W. O'NEAL, his
     heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims of all persons.

     And I, THEODOSIA EVANS, wife of the said JAMES A. EVANS, do hereby
     transfer and convey and release and relinquish to the said Grantee,
     his heirs and assigns all the right title and interest of every kind
     whatever I have in and to said property and particularly such as I
     have or may have under and by virtue of the laws of Tennessee
     relating to Homestead and dower.

     Witness our Hands this 10th day of March one thouand eight hundred
     and ninety 3 A.D. 189[3].
