WISDOM 43.75 acres State of Tennessee, McNairy County Know all men by these presents that whereas by the Statute of Dower, I, REBECCA BAUCUM, formerly REBECCA MELTON, late [sic] widow of HIRAM MELTON deceased, and my present husband, ASA BAUCUM, are lawfully seized of my lifetime estate in a certain piece or parcel of land being in McNairy County, State of Tennessee and known and described as follows: Beginning at a stake, poplar, birch, and chestnut pointers, the North East corner of Entry Number ____ in the name of LEO SOWELL, runs South 70 poles to a stake, white oak, hickory, and spanish oak pointers, then West 100 poles to a stake in an old field, two small post oak pointers, then North 70 poles to a black oak and hickory pointers, then East 100 poles to the beginning, containing by estimation 43 3/4 acres the same more or less. It being a part of the tract of land on which my said husband resided at the time of his death. Now for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and seventy five dollars to us in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, we have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey unto WILLIAM S. WISDOM and unto his heirs and assigns my lifetime estate rights and title to said lands. To have and to hold the same to the said WISDOM, his heirs and assigns during the time of my natural life, we do covenant with the said WISDOM that I am lawfully seized of said estate and have a good right to convey it and that the same is unencumbered. I do further covenant and bind myself to warrant and defend the title of said land to the said WISDOM, his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.
