WISDOM to MARGARET E. & MARY ANN BEARD [Note: MARGARET ELIZABETH BEARD later married WILEY BAUCUM.] Deed, 127.5 acres I, William S. Wisdom, have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey TO MARGARET ELIZABETH and MARY ANN BEARD and their heirs forever for the consideration of two hundred dollars to me in hand paid by the said Misses BEARD a certain tract of land in McNairy County, State of Tennessee in Range 3 and Sections 4 & 5, and bounded as follows: Beginning at a hickory, black oak and hickory for 228 poles East and 18 poles South of the SouthEast corner of Entry Number 352 in the name of JOEL LOWRANCE, runs North 40 poles to a black jack and 3 black jack pointers, then West 80 poles to a stake, 3 black jack and 2 spanish oak pointers, then South 105 poles to a post oak and 3 black jack pointers, the East 52 poles to a stake, black oak and hickory pointers, then North 12 poles to a hickory, 2 black oak and 2 hickory pointers, then East 120 poles to a stake, post oak and 3 black jack pointers, the North 93 poles, passing the SouthWest corner at 25 poles of a tract of land 57 1/2 acres, known as the rascal patch, to a stake on the North line of 185-acre entry granted to me, this being a part and the rascal patch being the balance, then West with said North line about 98 poles to the beginning, containing 127 1/2 acress more or less. To have and to hold the same to the said Misses BEARD, their heirs and assigns forever. I covenant with the said Misses BEARD that I am lawfully seized of said land, having a good right to convey it and that the same is unencumbered. I do further covenant and bind myself, my heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land and every part thereof to the said Misses BEARD, their heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever, this 5th day of August 1865.
