     WILLIAM M. HILL & J. F. WILLIAMS  to  DANIEL HILL

     Bill of Sale, LUKE

     Received from DANIEL HILL seven hundred and fifty dollars in full
     consideration for a Negro man named LUKE, supposed to be about 37
     years old.  We warrant the said boy LUKE to be sound and sensible
     and a slave for life.  We also warrant the title to be good under
     [our] hands and seals this 3 October 1853.

     [WILLIAM] HILL

     Bill of Sale for LUKE

     Received of J. F. WILLIAMS and WILLIAM HILL five hundred dollars in
     full payment for a Negro Man by the name of LUKE, supposed to be
     thirty seven years of age, for which we warrant and defend the title
     to said slave LUKE and also to be sound in body and mind and a slave
     for lifetime.
