Ms. Foster was a Bell South Sales Representative. She was preceded in death by a son, James Weatherford. She is survived by her husband, Malcolm "J.R." Foster; two sons, David Weatherford and wife Pam of Corinth, MS and Tim Weatherford of Counce; two stepsons, Terry Gene Foster and Tim Foster, both of Selmer; and a stepdaughter, Teresa Bugg and husband Harold of Huntsville, AL; two brothers, Vernie Martin of Finger and Paul Tacker of Millersburg, IN; and two sisters, Georgia Horton of Selmer and Abbie Essary of Adamsville. She had eight Grandchildren and two gr-grandchildren. Services were held at 1 p.m. on Aug. 4th at Shackelford Funeral Home. Burial followed at Lake Hill Memorial Gardens. .............. RUBY NELL SURRATT of Adamsville, 78, died Aug. 2, 2003 at her residence. Mrs. Surratt was a homemaker. She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arch Marion Gary and Nannie Nancy Hawkins; and her husband James Rayburn Surratt. She is survived by two sons, Gary Surratt and Richard Surratt, both of Adamsville; a daughter, Shelia Martin of Adamsville; and a sister, Essie Mae Miller of Henderson. She had eight grandchildren and nine gr- grandchildren. Services were held at 4 p.m. on Mon., Aug. 4th at Good Hope Baptist Church. Burial followed at Good Hope Cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Home made the arrangements. .............. ROY L. ATKINS, 88, of Michie, died Mon., July 28, 2003 at his home, attended by his loving family. Mr. Atkins was born on Aug. 10, 1914 in Acton, to Virgie Gann Atkins and Leo Atkins. He was graduate of Michie High School and was resident of Michie for all his adult life. He retired from Buckeye Oil Mill in Corinth, MS in 1979 after 47 years of service. Active in church and community, Mr. Atkins was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, and served as president of the church men's club. He served 35 years on the Pickwick Electric Cooperative Board of Directors and was a member of the McNairy County Election Commission for 17 years. He was an avid farmer and gardener. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mittie Gooch Atkins of Michie; and sisters-in-law Martha Gooch Dicus and Dorothy Smith Atkins, both of Corinth, MS and Myra Atkins of Acton. Also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews, to whom "Uncle Roy" gave a lifetime of love and devotion: Cornelia Atkins Counce, Barbara Sue Atkins Weaver, Gloria Jane Atkins Brown, Ann Robertson Thomas, Jane Robertson Kaup, Virginia Robertson Llewellyn, Becky Dickerson Berkhalter, Patricia Carolyn Gooch, Dianne Dicus Boatman, Amy Boatman Davis, and Kathleen Dianne Boatman. Preceded him in death were his brothers, Ingram Atkins and Granville Atkins; and his sisters, Mildred Atkins Robertson and Lois Atkins Dickerson. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edna Mae Hill of Selmer and Mrs. Madelene Hart of Houston, TX; and three sons, Mr. Jerry D. Kiser of Ramer, Mr. Edward Ray Kiser of Lexington and Mr. W. H. Tuisl; a daughter, Rhonda Harris of Nashville; and a sister, Judy Sykes of Jackson. He was a Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, A. C. and Eula Edith McCann McVay; two sisters, Linda Alberson and Dorothy "Dott" Lee Johnson. He is survived by four brothers, A. C. McVay of Selmer, Norman McVay and Carl T. McVay, both of Bethel Springs, and Larry McVay of Bartlett. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and First Baptist Church in Selmer. She is survived by two nieces, Ann Henderson and Jan Hailey, both of Selmer. PHILLIP STUART REEDER of Ramer, 86, died Aug. 7, 2003 at McNairy Regional Hospital. Mr. Reeder was a foreman for ICG Railroad for 37 ½ years. He was a member of Ramer Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Masonic Lodge. He was a charter member of Ramer Ruritan Club. He was a Union member with ICG Railroad. He was preceded in death by his father, Hurbert Jones Reeder; his mother, Nettie Burress Reeder; his wife, Mary Blanche Reeder; and a son, Ronald A. Reeder. He is survived by four sons, Arnold L. She was a former Sunday School Superintendent and active in the United Methodist Women and other church functions. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Lockman; and a stepson, Durwood Lockman. She is survived by four nephews, Gerald DeLaune, Jr., Eugene DeLaune, Mark H. DeLaune, and David G. BROTHER HOLLIS REEVES died Sun., Aug. 17, 2003 at McNairy County Regional Hospital, after a long illness. He was a Baptist Minister and a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II. Services were at Lanes Chapel Church near Bethel Springs on Mon., Aug. 18th, with Bro. J. H. Patterson and Bro. Frank Whitman officiating. Burial was in Lake Hill Memory Garden at Bethel Springs. McMillian Funeral Home of Booneville, MS was in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Mae Dru Swinney Reeves; two daughter, Nelda Pickens of Stantonville and Joanne Bell of Savannah; two sons, Robert Reeves of Booneville, MS and Ray Reeves of Bethel Springs; a brother, Gene Reeves of Booneville, MS; ten grandchildren, Jeff Reeves, Angelia Fleming, Rene Hembree, Joey Pickens, Anthony Pickens, Denis Whitman and Pam Crotts; and thirteen gr-grandchildren. ..............
