She was a member of the Selmer Church of Christ and the Tennessee Bar Association. She was an attorney. Services took place at 1 p.m. on Fri., May 7 at Shackelford Chapel in Selmer. Burial was held at the Lake Hill Memorial Garden in Bethel Springs. Officiating the services was Minister Grey Worthey. Pallbearers were Stacey Null, Andy Allison, Mark Allison, Josh Gray, Bill Young, and John Keith Gray. Ms. Findley is survived by her two sons, Robert Thomas Anderson and Adam Forrest Anderson, both of Vail, Colo. She was born and reared in McNairy County, near Finger, daughter of the late Oscar Miller and Roberta Patterson Plunk, she attended school at McNairy County lane's Chapel Schoolhouse. She was married to Guy Frankie Young in 1929. They made their home in McNairy County, where they farmed. They later lived in the Montezuma Community in Chester County, the Five Points Community near Pinson, and Humboldt, and moved to Pinson in 1963. Mr. Young preceded her in death in 1965. She owned and operated a restaurant in Henderson and later worked as a cook at the Queen's cup Café, and the First Assembly of God Day Care in Henderson, retiring in 1980. She was a charter member of the first Assembly of God Church in Henderson. She was in the welcoming committee at heritage Towers and enjoyed quilting as a living. Services took place at 2 p.m. on Wed., May 26, at First Assembly of God Church in Henderson. Burial was held at Big Springs Cemetery near Pinson. Officiating the services were Bro. She attended schools at Finger and in 1944 was married to Sam P. Jones. They made their home in Chicago, Ill, until 1958 when they returned to Henderson. She worked at Chester County Nursing Home for 11 years, and then worked for Morrison's Food Service, and later Hill Food Services at Freed Hardeman University until she retired in 1990. He is survived by his wife, Era Mae Kelley Talbert of Enville, three daughters, Patsy Bias and Barbara Pitts both of Adamsville, and Mitzi Ratliff of Morris Chapel, four grandchildren, Amanda Freeman of Regan, Kelli Pitts and Lachelle Gray both of Adamsville, and Nick Ratliff of Morris Chapel, and two gr-grandchildren, Josh and Justin Treece of Adamsville. >>>>>>>>>>>>>> JOHN ANDERSON SR., 72, died Thurs., Oct. 7, 1999, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. He was born Oct. 16, 1926, in Selmer to T. L. and Blanch Brown Anderson. He graduated from Selmer High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he served on thee USS Louisville CA 28, Okinawa Campaign, 6th Div-1st Loader Quad 40 MMAA. After the war, he began working in industrial sales, most recently in industrial equipment sales fro Murphy Tractor Co. of Booneville. He was an active member of the First Christian Church of Selmer and Elks Lodge BPOE 2573. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. Services were held Saturday, Oct. 9th at First Christian Church in Selmer, with Bro. James "Jim" Adkins officiating. Burial was in Selmer City Cemetery. McPeters Funeral Directors were in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Peggy Nelms Anderson; one daughter, Rhonda eve Anderson of Houston, Texas, one son, John Howard Anderson Jr., and his wife, Stacy; two sisters, Blanch Elaine Carrington of Bradenton, FL, and Alice Ella White of Jackson; three brothers, Jack Anderson of Hattiesburg, Rob T. Anderson of Freeport, FL, and Frank Anderson of Selmer; two grandchildren, Johnathan Shaye Anderson and Christopher Robert Anderson, both of Corinth. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Melvin Anderson. She was born in Finger, McNairy County, daughter of the late Harrison and Lillian Lewis Brown. She attended schools in McNairy Co., Finger, and Bethel Springs, graduating in 19441. She worked at Salant and Salant Mfg. In Henderson. She was married to James Rubel McKenzie in 1942, and they moved to California for three years and moved back to Selmer where Mr. McKenzie worked 4 years for Shackelford Funeral Home. They moved to Finger when Mr. McKenzie was employed by Home banking Co. At Finger, where he became President and retired in 1985. Mrs. McKenzie worked as a Postal Clerk for the Post Office in Finger for 30 years. She was a member of the Ladies Club in Finger for 40 years, and a member of the First Baptist Church Finger. Services took place at 11 a.m. on Thurs., Oct 12, at Casey Funeral Home chapel. Burial was held at Finger Cemetery in McNairy County. Officiating the services were Ministers Rev. Raymond Hardin, Bro.
