She was preceded in death by her parents, J.R. (Jimmy) and Mattie McGarrety Hardin; her husband, Jesse Garner Jamerson; and a grandson, Mitch McLaughlin. She is survived by three daughters, Maxine Wright of Adamsville, Betty McLaughlin of Memphis and Frances Price of Germantown; and three sons, Don Jamerson of Selmer, Jimmie Jamerson of Hornersville, MO, and Harry Jamerson of Germantown. Mr. Littlejohn was co-owner of Sing Craft in Corinth and Eastview Monuments in Selmer. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Corinth. He is survived by his father, William Littlejohn of Corinth, MS; his mother, Magdalene Melton Harris of Selmer; a stepfather, Frank Harris of Selmer; a grandparent Ainer Littlejohn of Corinth, MS; a son Bryan Allen Littlejohn of Guys; twos sisters, Lisa L. Mr. Morgan was a member of Liberty Church of Christ in Michie. He was married to Johnny Morgan for 61 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Egbert and Rosie Wood McAfee; and three brothers, Guy McAfee. Troy McAfee, and Jim McAfee. He is survived by his wife, Johnny Morgan; two sons, Donald Morgan and wife Mary Jo of Corinth, MS and Ron Morgan and wife Vicki of Pearl, MS; a daughter, Louise Fowler and husband Thomas of Michie; two brothers, Jamie McAfee of Michie and John McAfee of Eastview; and three sisters, Maud Edwards and Lillian Lambert, both of Michie, and Ruth Feazell of Corinth, MS. NETTIE M. YORK WHITTEN of Memphis, formerly of Selmer, 59, died Jan. 18, 2003 in Memphis. Mrs. Whitten died of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Memphis. She is survived by her husband, Harold R. Whitten, Sr. of Memphis; a son, Harold Ray Whitten, Jr. of Houston, TX; and two daughters, Cindy Belderas of Memphis and Debbie Whitten Colver of Louisville, KY. She had six Grandchildren. Burial followed at Bethlehem Cemetery in Adamsville. ................. MILDRED FARROW BARHAM of Henderson, 83, died Jan. 29, 2003 at Chester County Healthcare. Mrs. Barham was born in Chester County, daughter of the late George and Ethel Brewer Farrow. She attended schools in Chester County and was married to Albert Barham in 1937. They made their home in Chester County, where they operated a dairy farm until 1996, when Mrs. Barham became disabled. She was a former member of the Glendale Home Demonstration Club and a member of the Holly Springs United Methodist Church. Mrs. Barham enjoyed cooking and quilting. She is survived by her husband, Albert Barham of Henderson; a daughter, Ramona Browder of Selmer; a son, Tim Barham of Henderson, and a sister, Lois Rhodes of Huron. She had eleven grandchildren and fifteen gr- grandchildren. Services were held at 3 p.m. on Jan. 31st at Leon Johnson Funeral Home, with Reverend Neal Hinson officiating. She is survived by two sons, Danny Henley of Bolivar and Jimmy Henley of Meridian, MS; two daughters, Cheryl Ervin of Bolivar and Peggy Mitchell of Bethel Springs; and a sister, Lucille Cox of Jackson. Appeared in the Independent Appeal Newspaper Wed., Mar. 26, 2003 MILBOURNE CLARK WALKER, 73, Real Estate Broker and retired from the Air Force and Postal Service, died Mon., Mar. 17, 2003, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Services were held at 11 a.m. Thurs., at Shackelford Funeral Home with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery. He was a World War II and Korean War veteran, member of Selmer First Baptist Church, Gilley II Sunday School Class, Purdy Masonic Lodge 132, Al Chymia Lodge in Corinth, MS, member of McNairy County Democratic Executive Committee and member of the Sons of the Revolution (SAR) in Jackson. He enlisted in the Air Force in Sept. 1946 and retired in Aug. of 1969. He was in the Air Force Crash Fire Department. Later he became NCOIC of Small Arms Training. He was a small arms instructor. He was a member of the Air Force Pistol Team. He shot a perfect score in the National Matches, and was awarded The Distinguished Pistol Award. He also received the Excellence in Competition (Silver Badge) for outstanding marksmanship. This Air Force Award is presented to the top marksman in the Annual Shooting event held at Lackland AFB, Texas. He was a member of the Myrtle Beach AFB Pistol Team and was high man in the TAC matches. He came off the firing line with a high aggregate score of 825 - second place was Shaw AFB with a score of 790. He was honored during ceremonies held in the office of Brid. Gen. Gilbert L. Meyers, 534th Tactical Fighter Wing Commander, and was named the 354th TFW's Top Gun. Myrtle Beach AFB Pistol Team breezed through the National Championships held in Tampa, FL. This was an NRA-sponsored match. S/Sgt. Walker was particularly outstanding during the matches. Entered in the expert classification and competed against 165 other shooters in this class of fire, he won 10 awards including 2 first places. He beat out an Army and Navy Shooter (Quote from Air Force Times). But most importantly, Walker was a loving husband, and devoted and inspiring father. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Foster Walker; one son, Clark Walker of Pickwick Dam; two sisters, Jeffery Burke of Hot Springs, AR and Jo Doris Mueller of Little Rock, AR; one brother, Jimmy Kay Walker of Bethel Springs; six nephews and five nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Kerby Walker; his mother, Jessie Jewell Cobb Walker; and a half-brothers, Harold Graham of Batesville, MS. .............................................. OPAL CONE of Henderson, 79, died Mar. 17, 2003 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. Mrs. Cone was born and reared in McNairy County, the daughter of the late Albert and Eula Tacker Owen. She married William Howard Cone in 1942. Mr. Cone died in 1965. She moved to Henderson in 1968. She was a member of Lanes Chapel Church. She had been in ill health for the past 6-8 weeks, and he been in Baptist Hospital for the past 2 weeks. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Edith Johnson of Wesley Chapel, FL; two sons, Dennis Cone of Southhaven, MS and Terry Cone of Henderson; and a brother, Ray Owen of Uless, TX. She was born in McNairy County, the daughter of the late Bill and Mary Susan Russell Smith. She attended school in McNairy and Bethel Springs. She was a member of Campbell Street Church of Christ. She was married to Melvin Seratt on Feb. 28, 1941. He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1998. She was also preceded in death b y three sisters, Cleatis Cooper, Glatis Sewell Belew, and Irene Frey. She is survived by her daughter Rebecca and her husband, Bob Facer of Franklin; one grandchild, Melanie and Dr. John Chambers of Franklin; three gr-grandchildren, Hannah Lee, Samuel Luke and Joshua William Chambers, all of Franklin; one brother, James W. Smith, Sr. of Selmer; four sisters, Mildred Boyd of Tupelo, MS, Georgia Lofton of Jackson, Ruby Pearl Hickman of Selmer, and Billie Joe Smith of Selmer. He attended schools in McNairy County and farmed in his younger years. He was married to Faye Massengill in 1947. He worked as a sheetmetal worker for Piggly Wiggly until his retirement in 1975. He worked for Guinn Bros. Auto Dealer in Henderson for several years after his retirement. He was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Faye Massengill Goff of Henderson; three daughters, Jane Johnson and Tammy Goff, both of Henderson, and Tina Jones and her husband Jeff of Lexington; two son, Doyle Goff and his wife Wanda, and Sammy Goff, all of Henderson. ASBURY WHITTEN KINNEY, longtime resident of Whiteville, a World War II veteran and a person well-known for his ability to repair all types of electrical appliances, died at 2:30 p.m. on Mon., Mar. 31, 2003, at the Bells Nursing Home in Bells, where he had been a patient for the past four months. He was 81 years of age and died following an extended illness. He was assisted by the Reverend Bill Sorrell, pastor of the Whiteville First Baptist Church. A solo selection with sign language was provided by a granddaughter, Kelly Bartling. He was the son of the late Alfred Henry Kinney and the late Essie Lee Williams Kinney. He was married on Mar. 6, 1946 to the former Julia Ann Abernathy, a native of Selmer, who survives. He was employed for over thirty-five years by the Bolivar Tannery Company before his retirement in 1984. He was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Whiteville. He will be remembered as a person who enjoyed the fellowship of his many friends and extended family. Known for his patriotism, he was an active member of the 238th Engineer Battalion Association, Company B and attended numerous military reunions through the years. He enjoyed fishing when time permitted, and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who loved his family and community. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Purdy Masonic Lodge, and a World War II Army Veteran. He had an early association with the Methodist Church, and later with the Unity Church. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Maxedon Agnew. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 28, 2002. He also is survived by a son, David Agnew and his wife Nelvia of Jonesboro, AR, and a daughter, Wanda Agnew Perrigo and her husband Lewis of Bethel Springs. Grandchildren are John and James Agnew and Jessica and Jennifer Perrigo. Nieces are Jane White, Nell Osborn, and Shirley Clement. A nephew is Curry L. Hendrix.
