Mrs. Phillips was a member of the New Hope Methodist Church and held the occupation of a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walton Phillips. She is survived by two daughters, Madeline Littlefield of Stantonville and Olgie Hubbard of Adamsville, two sons, James Phillips of Adamsville and Charles Phillips of Crawfordsville, Ind., ten grandchildren, nineteen grandchildren (that's what it says???) and one gr-grandchild. Funeral services were held at the Shackelford Funeral Home on Fri., June 30. For 24 years and later worked for Massey Regerson, retiring in 1980 due to a work related injury. He was married to Judy Chadwell in 1976 and moved to Southgate, MI, where he resided until moving back to Tenn. In 1995. He was a wood craftsman, doing many craft show until illness forced his retirement in 1998. He is preceded in death by one brother, Johnnie Weaver and four sister, Doris Fay Weaver, Lavinia Stansell, Martha Cox, and Ruby Heflin. She grew up in the Sweetlips Community, attended school in Chester County and worked on the family farm, at Milan Arsnal until 1945, the Henderson Clinic from 1953 until 1965, at LeBonheur Hospital from 1965 until 1974, retiring in 1974 and at that time moving to Savannah to live with her sister Imo Massengill. Imo died in 1993 and then Ms. Massengill made her home at Tri-County Nursing Home in Adamsville. She is preceded in death by two brothers, David Massengill and Alvin Massengill and two sisters, Mary Gatley and Imo Massengill. She is survived by one sister, Ruth Sparks of Henderson.
