DEED FOR TRANQUILLITY METHODIST CHURCH

Noah Buttram Deed Gift Hiram Brandon & Others Trustees

For the love & affection which I have for the Methodist Episcopal Church South, I do herby make a deed of gift, to Hiram Brandon, Leander Wilson, Noah Buttram, Thomas Cecill, and U H Shipley – Trustees, for the Methodist Episcopal Church south, for the use of the aforesaid Church, to a small tract or parcel of land, lying in the county of McMinn, situate in the second range, West of the meridian First Township, 23 Section & the north east quarter, of said section, Beginning at the north west corner of said quarter section, and running east with the line to the big road hence south, running with the big road to the first drain, and thence up said drain to the beginning, corner, the same containing, two acres more or less. I the said Noah Buttram, do bind myself, my heirs and assigns, to the aforesaid trustees and their successions in office, to Warrant, and for over defend against the lawful claim of all and every person by these presents as indefeasible inheritance in fee Simple, In Testimony where of I the said Noah Buttram, here unto set my hand & seal on this the second day of March one thousand eight hundred and forty eight.

Deed to church property at Tranquillity. Noah Buttram to the Trustees of the M. E. Church (South) being a fractional part of the north east quarter of Section 23 first township 2nd Range west of the meridian line. Beginning at the north west corner of said quarter thence east to the public road thence south to a drain, thence up said drain to the beginning corner containing two acres more or less.
