I have this clipping of a news article with picture of a family member
pertaining to an Etowah, TN. homecoming festival where she had been named
"Miss Etowah". I noticed the newspaper article on the website McMinn County
Our Tennessee Home titled "Etowah- A day in the life of it's citizenry- May
20, 1938" and wanted to not only contribute the newspaper clipping that I have
but also to try and confirm what I suspect is that the clipping I have is a
follow up article to the one posted on your website. Your article is about an
upcoming memorial day celebration where it goes on to mention the naming of a
Miss Etowah at the conclusion of a beauty contest. The celebration was to take
place on Monday May 30, 1938. The article I have does not include the year,
but does refer to the "Monday evening" of "Etowah's mammoth Homecoming
Festival". I did notice that the writer of the article you have posted on the
website liked the word "mammoth" when describing the upcoming event. I would
like to contribute this article for your use and if it is possible to confirm
whether or not my article is or is not a follow up to yours. Thank you in
advance if you are able to confirm or deny this. Sincerely, Bob Barnes
