Etowah was and is known as "The Railroad Town".  This picture is how the town looked in 1906.  The depot is still standing and is totally restored.  The railroad is still thriving but now owned by CSX.  Few thing remain unchanged...one thing that hasn't is the view of Starr Mountain in the background of this picture.
