On February 24, 2001, a group of ladies had lunch in Corinth, Mississippi to discuss the possibility of forming a new Daughters of Union Veterans Tent. Those present were:
Rita Antle
Reita Burress,
Peggie Burkhead
Pat Latham
Mavis Sutherland
Sybil Woodley
After some discussion it was agreed to proceed with applying for a Charter for a new Tent. It was agreed and voted that Mavis Sutherland would send for the Charter Kit, and that all would complete needed paperwork.

March 24, 2001 all of the above ladies met at Manor Restaurant in Shiloh, Tennessee. All came together to complete the Charter form to send to our National Office. The Officers were named and elected, and they were as follows:
President: Sister Rita Antle
SVP: Sister Mavis Sutherland
JVP: Sister Yolanda Elkins
Treasurer: Sister Sybil Woodley
Patriotic Instructor: Sister Peggy Burkhead
Chaplain: Sister Reita Burress
Secretary: Sister Pat Latham
Historian: Sister Reita Burress
Press Correspondent: Sister Rita Antle
Council Members: Sister Rita Antle
              Sister Mavis Sutherland & Sister Reita Burress
Guide: Sister Peggy Burkhead
Guard: Sister Mavis Sutherland

It was agreed the name of the Tent would be: Major Belle Reynolds.

Dues were set at $20 per year, and $35 for New Members.

Two dates were set that members would like to have the new Tent instituted, if the National Office could accommodate, those dates were: April 21 & May 5, 2001.

April 8, 2001 a reply was received from the National DUV President Sister Janeth Seyfang that the date of May 5, 2001 would be the institution date. It was decided this would take place at Shiloh National Park, Shiloh, Tennessee in the Conference Room in the Cemetery House. April 16, 2001 an Application for Special Use Permit Form was received from Ms. Ambrose, Chief of Interpretation for Shiloh. It was completed and faxed back to Shiloh the next day. 

April 24, 2001 Rita Antle, Reita Burress, Pat Latham , Mavis Sutherland and Sybil Woodley  met at Shiloh to sign Special Use Permit. Members discussed with Ms. Ambrose, Chief of Interpretation the possibility of the new Tn. Tent #4's first project being Volunteer work at Shiloh National Park. They then met with Past President of Tn. Tent #2 to turn over all Tent items and to get transfer applications. Members then returned to Shiloh to view the conference room and tour Shiloh National Cemetery.

May 5, 2001 Rita Antle, Reita Burress, Yolanda Elkins, Pat Latham, Joan Nash, Mavis Sutherland, National President Janeth Seyfang, Organizing President of Hetty M. McEwen Tent #1 and currently Registrar Marlene Ratbun Wilkinson and  Patriotic Instructor Tent #1 Marion Scruggs Douthitt met at the Catfish Restaurant near Shiloh, Tn. for lunch. Then National President Janeth  Seyfang and Tent #4 President Rita Antle were given a tour of Shiloh by Chief of Interpretation Ms. Ambrose while preparations  for institution were made. The National President resided over the institution of Daughters of Union Veterans Major Belle Reynolds Tent #4 and installation of officers. Several were in attendance and refreshments were served afterwards. This was a GREAT DAY for Tent #4.
