There were only three yearbooks for Kingsport Central High School.  After the first yearbook, the principal thought the students spent too much time working on the yearbook and not enough time studying, so he would not approve further yearbooks.  Central did not have another yearbook until a new principal came on board for the 1924-25 school year and he approved a yearbook for Central High School.  After the 1925-26 school year, Kingsport Central High School ceased to exist and Dobyns-Bennett High School came into being in the Wateree Street facilities.  The Kingsport Central building became Washington Elementary School.
