In going through an old family picture album I came across
this photo. No one in the family knows who the people are, but
the consensus is that it is a Taylor photo. At first we thought
the gentleman in the top right was my grandfather, Eugene Smith
Taylor, but decided that it wasn't. Then we thought the gentleman
in the bottom left might have been my great grandfather, John
Albert Taylor, but just aren't sure. John Albert Taylor and his
family were born in Sumner County, Tennessee and most, if not
all, worked for the railroad in someway. I believe that is what
brought them to Erin, Tennessee. John Albert Taylor died in 1935
and is buried in the Erin City Cemetery. His wife Ella Belle Smith
is buried there and I believe two of their daughters -- Johnnie
Pearl Taylor and Looney Wise Taylor (don't know their married
names). Eugene Smith Taylor is also buried in the same cemetery
in Erin but in a different plot. John's brother Henry Dulin Taylor
is buried in Sumner County, and we believe their half-brother
William is also buried in Sumner County. There were three sisters
-- Mary, Josephine, and Augusta -- and possibly another brother
Robert. Nothing is known about them.
I'm hoping that someone will be able to identify these people.
The photo intrigues me because the girl in the middle looks like
me when I was 13 or 14 years old. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
