E. L. Long was my grandfather. He was born in Madison Co. probably in 1887. He was the son of William Night Long whose family lived in Madison Co. in 1880 and Carroll Co. in 1850. Eldredge married Flossie Erin Reaves (daughter of Jesse and Martha Reaves) and they lived in Medina, Gibson Co. (I believe he may have first been married to a Jonnie Long buried in Riverside Cemetery in Jackson, Madison Co.) He died in Dec. 1911 or Dec. 1912 and is buried at Hopewell Cemetery in Medina. Eldredge and Flossie had one child, my father - James Howard Long born Nov. 1910 in Gibson Co. - who resided in Gleason, Weakley Co. at the time of his death in 1983.
