CLIFTON MCCARTNEY (b. Dec. 13, 1907, d. Feb.
12, 1916; buried
in Shiloh General Baptist Church Cemetery). Clifton was the son of
R. B. McCartney & S. Georgia W. Knott McCartney. Clifton was
crippled with polio & following his mother's death in 1912, he was
cared for by his father, R. B., and his maternal grandmother, Nan
Knott. Clifton was the stepson of Dottye Williams Branson McCartney. He
had one full brother, Sidney, and four half brothers,
Hollis Paul McCartney, James Howard "Jim" McCartney, Glynn
Harold McCartney, and R. B. "Bug" McCartney, Jr. He had a half
sister as well, Lena Mae McCartney Bradford. He also had one stepbrother,
Byron G. Branson. This picture was made somewhere around 1910.
