Transcribed by Patti Simmons.I apologize for any errors as some of the rocks were very hard to read.Probably many unmarked graves throughout.

FROM ADAM MCCARTNEY: Others more than likely buried here but without headstones:

MCCARTNEY, Nancy Caroline Baird b. ca 1815, d. ca 1851 Wife of William Andrew (Possibly buried here because there was an old family tale passed down that she was buried on a hill.)

MCCARTNEY, Martha E. b. ca 1846, d. 1858 Daughter of William A. and Caroline (Possibly buried here because her father and mother were buried here.)

BUTLER, Nancy Ellen Parsons Wife of Jesse G. (Old timer's remember "Miss Nan" being buried here.)

FROM RICK & JOY TUCKER: Will A. Young has a readable headstone. To the south of him in the same row are several of his family members with no markers (the sandstones were destroyed by a bushhog by accident). They are as follows:  Priesley Young (no dates) Brother of Henry A. Young Elizabeth "Lizzie" Johns b. 1854 Wife of Henry A. Young Henry A. Young (no dates) Father of Will A. Young In the east corner of the cemetery are 3 of Will A. Young's children:  Ernest Young Died of rabies Allen Young Died of rabies Merele Young Cause of death unknown This information was provided by Myrtie Young Lowery, daughter of Will A. Young. There is only 1 cedar of any significant age in the cemetery. Because there is only one- I know where my grandmother's infant brother is buried. I remember as a young child of only 8 or 9, Ma walked with me up to the cemetery and showed me where he was buried. I was the only one in the family that knew this and was beginning to think I was crazy and had

dreamed it, but Mrs. Myrtie told my mother that she remembered talking to my great-grandmother about where her son was buried- under the big cedar tree!!  Please add a line for him: Infant son of Dora (Moody) and Green Harris Johns ca. 1895

FROM ADAM MCCARTNEY: The Book "Tennessee's Last Kingdom" written by Ernest R. Pounds states that a slave named Jerry was buried at the feet of his master at Patterson Cemetery. The slave was wrapped in a featherbed and was buried from north to south instead of east to west.
