*NOTE: The two stones from the Jones Cem. on the McMurry Rd were moved to Oak Grove Cem. in the Edison Community of Gibson Co. and cleaned up and placed in the row with Thomas H. Jones son's stone, Rev. John Washington Jones.

The Herald Democrat, March 14, 1902:
"Mrs. Kate Lassiter, about 82 years of age, was found dead on her bed
Wednesday morning at the home of her son, Allen Lassiter, a few miles
southwest of this city.  Mrs. Lassiter had been in ill health all the winter,
but there was nothing in her condition to indicate the sudden dissolution,
which was a great surprise and shock to the family and friends.  The
remains were interred yesterday at the old Jones grave yard, on the J. M.
Hannah farm.  Mrs. Lassiter was highly esteemed by her neighbors and
friends, and, like nearly all of her sisters, lived beyond her allotted three
score years and ten."

Kate Lassiter was a daughter of Thomas H. Jones & Catharine Shaw.
I am going back out there to the site and do some looking for a buried stone.
The others were moved to Oak Grove Methodist Cemetery.
