(Robertson) James, stone not found but she is buried in this cemetery, May 30, 1802-August 28, 1889 There were other buried in this cemetery but their markers were not found. Statement by Glenice Norton: These are headstones that I or my cousins have seen
at different times over the years while visiting the cemetery. The
cemetery has become overgrown and vandals have overturned headstones and
possibly removed some of them. In 1979, I copied some of the dates from
broken headstones and took pictures of my great grandparent’s headstone
The Gibson County, Tennessee list of cemeteries has
(had) this cemetery listed as Un-named Stones had a partial list of
burials. That old list gave the location as about 1 mile from RR in
Gibson on Route 186 North on land owned by Mr. Paul Corder. The location
is approximately correct and is located on the East side of the road as
you drive North. I have seen a list of this The above list is a verified listing of family members buried in the cemetery and an explanation of each person’s relationship. Since four generations of the James family members are buried in this cemetery, it is reasonable to believe that Johanna Robertson James, wife of Robert L. James, is also buried there along with her husband and her mother but her headstone has not been found. How many others are buried there also but headstones have not been found? Sadly, the cemetery is not being kept and will deteriorate even more with information lost forever.
