J.P. Thomason
 
Heart Attack Fatal to Life Long Resident of Dyer
 
Mr. J.P. Thomason, 78, well known citizen of Dyer, died suddenly at his home June 9th, 1934, from a heart attack.  Death came within two hours after he was stricken.
 
Mr. Thomason had not been well for some time but was able to be out the day before the attack, and his sudden death was a shock to his numerous  relatives and friends.
 
Mr. Thomason had been a life long resident of Dyer.  He was born Dec. 19, 1855, a son of James & Sara Jane Thomason.  He was united to Miss Della Landrum May 28, 1888.  To this union four children were born, all of whom survive.  They are Aulta & Gerald Thomason, Mrs. Frank Hill & Mrs. Mable Goad all of Dyer.  Surviving also are his wife, two brothers, W. F. and D. O. of Dyer, and one sister, Mrs. J. E. McKinley, of Fruitland, Tennessee.
 
Funeral services were held from the Dyer Methodist church Sunday, June 10, by Rev. O. H. Lafferty of Dyer.   Interment was in Oakwood cemetery, J. W. Baird & Sons in charge.
 
Mr. Thomason was a member of the Griers Chapel Methodist Church, having joined in early life.
