Registered 14th July A.D. 1874 Stephen Witterington To Deed----------------- B.F. Wilson------------- I, Stephen Witterington have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey unto B.F. Wilson and his heirs forever for the consideration of the sum of two thousand dollars to me in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Gibson , Civil District No. 19 and State of Tennessee and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning as a stake with oak and two dogwood pointers(?) the northwest corner of the dower of Nancy Witterington and runs west with A.O. Daniels line 253 1/2 poles(?) to his southwest corner thence south 63 1/2 poles(?) to a white oak with beech and black oak _____-thence 253 1/2 poles to a stake on the western boundary of the dower-thence north with the dower line 63 1/2 poles to the beginning. Containing by estimation 100 acres and 98 poles more or less. To have and to hold the same to said B.F. Wilson and his heirs and assigns forever. I do covenant with said B.F. Wilson that I am lawfully seized of said land and have a good right to convey it and that the same is unencumbered. I do further bind myself & him and representatives to warrant and forever deferred the title of said land to the said B.F. Wilson and his heirs against the lawful claims of all persons whatever. A lien is retained on the land until the purchase money is paid . Given under hand and seal and revenue stamp. This the 13 day of December 1873. Holmes Gibson County Clerk of the County Court of said county , Stephen Witterington the Bargainer to the attached Deed with whom I am personally acquainted and acknowledged that he executed the same for the purpose therein contained.
