We S. H. & R. W. Williams of said county & state being justly indebted to J. J. R. Adams under the fir's name of J. J. R. Adams
by act due October 1, 1891 for seventy-five dollars and felling anxious and desirous of securing said J. J. R. Adams in the above
mentioned amount; and for all supplies and advances he may furnish me during the year, I have this day bargained and sold
and do by these presents deliver unto said J. J. R. Adams our entire crop consisting of 25 acres in cotton and 12 acres in corn now growing on the land owned by E. T. Trusoy in the 3rd civil district of said county.
 
Also the following described personal property to sit one sorrel mule about 18 years old, also one black colored cow unmarked, also a wagon and harness.
 
We agree to gather said crop in good time; deliver the cotton to some convenient gin, and take ginner's receipt for same in the name of J. J. R. Adams and when bailed deliver to him at Humboldt, Tennessee as soon as it can reasonable be done.
 
I am not to convert any portion of said crop to our own use without  the knowleldge and consent of said J. J. R. Adams
and he is to have absolute  control as to selling, and when sold to apply the proceeds to our credit, and if there should be more than will discharge our total indebtedness and all interest and cots therein, the balance, if any, to be paid over to us.
 
Now, should we fail in complying with our part of contract on or before October 1, 1891, then the said J. J. R. Adams can at his will and pleasure enter our premises and take charge of our crop and the same gathered at our expense and sell the same or enough thereof to satisfy the debt in full and all costs therein.
 
It is agreed and understood that we are to retain possession until the 1st day of October next, at the expiration of which time, unless the  indebtedness herein secured as above set forth, shall have been paid in full, it shall and may be lawful for the said J. J. R. Adams by virtue hereof without--or process of law, to take possession of the aforesaid personal property and sell or dispose
of the same, either at public or private sale and after paying the indebtedness herein secured as above specified, all interest
and costs thereon, the balance, if any, paid over to us.
 
Bond and oath mortgages waived. In testimony whereof I have here into affixed our signatures.
