PAGE 498--I.F.DAVIS to J. T. DAVIS: DEED OF GIFT.  Know all men by these presents, that I, ISHAM F. DAVIS of the County of Gibson State of Tennessee for and in consideration of the natural love and affection that I bear to my son, JOHN LEWIS DAVIS, hath this day hereof given and granted to my said son two negro slaves to wit: Sarah aged 20 the 16th of this instant., Pluto age 12 the 7th of April next.In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this 18th of January 1838.   ISHAM F. DAVIS.  State of Tennessee; Gibson County) Personally appeared before me ALLEN C. NIMMO Clerk of Gibson County ISHAM F. DAVIS the barganor, with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that he executed the within Deed of Gift for the purpose therein contained.  Witness my hand at office in Trenton this 12th day of February 1838 A.C.NIMMO  Clk.  State of Tennessee Gibson County) Registers Office February 12th 1838.The within named Deed of Gift and clerks certificate was duly registered in my office in Book F. BARKSDALE the following property viz a negro woman named Cherry with her two children the eldest a girl named Cherry, the other named Pompy a boy two horses two cows and calves two beds and furniture with one bedstead and some household and kitchen furniture all of the above property subject to be recalled by me at my option.  Septr 1827  ISHAM F. DAVIS  State of Tennessee Gibson County) County Court Septr Term 1828.I THOMAS FITE clerk of said court do hereby certify that this instrument of writing from I.F.DAVIS to Sally A. BARKSDALE was produced in court and acknowledged by said DAVIS to be his act for the purpose therein expressed which was ordered to be certified. THOS. FITE Clerk.

SAME PAGE--J. F .DAVIS to SALLY A. BARKSDALE: DEED OF GIFT. Know all men by these presents, that I,  ISHAM F. DAVIS of the County of Gibson ans State of Tennessee for and in the consideration of the love and affection I have and now bear for my daughter, SALLY ANN BARKSDALE I hereby relinquish to them all my right title claim and interest to the following negro slaves to wit: Cherry, Cherry, Pompy and Cherry's increase since the loan to wit: Caroline,  Jackson, and Mariah also the stock household and kitchen furniture loaned at the same time more fully reference to be had in county court record of 1828.
