William Edward Pickens Bible

I have in my possession the Bible, which belonged to my Grandparents, William Edward Pickens
 and Laura Jane McGill Pickens. This Holy Bible was printed by the American Bible Society
in 1880. It has a hard light brown cover, the front of which is no longer attached. It is in poor condition. W.E. and Laura Jane Pickens lived on a farm between Dyer and Trenton, in Gibson Co., TN., having moved there from Chester Co. TN. W.E. Pickens was born in Hardin Co., TN., son of Alexander G. Pickens. Laura Jane was born in Chester Co., TN. All six of W.E. and Laura's children are buried with them at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mt. Olive Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Dyer, TN.

W.E. Pickens and Laura Jane McGill were married Dec. 2, 1879

Wilma Pickens and Earl Griffin were married March 19th (Wed. afternoon) 1919
in the Methodist Parsonage in Dyer Tenn. by Rev. Woods.
