Hello,
..... Re: Isaac Lynch m. Millie..had issue Susan and Iron. Susan married
Harrison Lee Douglas first. He went on to marry two more times. His last
marriage was to Susan Evelyn Fisher Clark, who was my grandmother. I believe
Susan Lynch Douglas is buried with Harrison Lee Douglas near Popes Hill,
Smith Co., TN.
There is another family of Lynches that migrated to Crittenden Co., KY along
with many other families, Clarks, Paris's, Hunts, Congers, to name just a few. I
have some iinformation on these families. Let me know what you need.

Do you show a Miverva Lynch m. Sampson Overstreet b 1836 probably in Smith Co, TN because that's where his father William Overstreet died abt 1867.
I only know of four of Minerva and Sampson's children:
Permelia,
William,
Lawrence I,
Nora.
I would like to know more about her side of the family if you have anything.

Jim,
I would be interested in your Clark information. My GGGrandfather married a Clark in Smith/DeKalb Co. in the early 1800s, and many of the Moore men since (including my brother and youngest son) have carried Clark as their middle name. I would be very interested to see your Smith Co. Clarks. Thanks!

Due to no response, I am expanding this post to include some TN county maillists.

I am unable to continue to function as the list manager for the WITCHER list, and I need a volunteer that is manager of other lists or has email/web experience to take over the administrative role as list manager. This is a permanant handoff. When I cease as list manager, I will not shut off the list, but rootsweb may, as the notification of list bounces will also bounce, as my email will be terminated.

The other five lists that I managed have already been reassigned.
Let's keep the WITCHER list alive and active !!!!

I'm trying to find the Williams that Jenny Robinson married. She was the daughter of Stephen Robinson. I think they must have been married about 1813/1814 in Smith Co. I'm pretty sure they were Methodist. My gr-gr-grandfather, Christopher Williams-b-1815 in Smith Co, may have been the Christopher Williams named in the list of grandchildren of Stephen R.
Any help from this family would be much appreciated.

Dear Peggy,
I am interested in your Edward Burgess Clark of Smith Co. Leonard Clark and his family migrated to Smith Co. in 1818/1819. They were counted in the 1820 Federal Census of Smith Co. First of all, one of Leonard Clark's sons was named Alfred P Clark. Alfred P. Clark had a son by the name of Edward B. H. Clark. I have no more information on him other than after Alfred's wife died he returned to Smith Co. and lived with his son Ed, on Payne's Bend, Smith Co., TN., until his death. I don't know if Alfred stayed in Smith Co. to raise his family. I had heard that he lived up in Clay Co., Tn. and in Simpson Co., Ky for awhile.
I am interested also in your Ed's middle name. There is a Leonard Clark who married Mary Burgess in Pittsylvania Co., VA on Jan. 10, 1798. I believe that this Leonard is the father of Alfred P. Clark and my gggrandfather, Thomas Anderson Clark. Not proved. My Leonard Clark migrated from Halifax Co., Va. Pittsylvania Co. was formed from Halifax Co., VA Any information on your Edward B. Clark would be much appreciated.

Best Regards,
Jim

Searching for the reason that the widowed Mary Elizabeth Stalcup (Stallcop), aged in her mid-70's, left her family of grown children in Smith Co TN sometime between 1855 and 1860, and traveled to Williamson Co IL to live with the family of Thomas Houston Burnett, where she appeared on the 1860 Census.

She is buried in Coal Bank Springs Cemetery, Williamson Co IL. Her tombstone reads: Elizabeth, Wife of William. Died 15 April 1863 aged 81 years. Her husband, William, was also her first cousin, and her married and maiden names are the same. She was originally buried in Parks-Burnett Cemetery with the family of James R. Burnett, who is also from Smith Co TN. They were all reinterred by the coal company in the 1960's. His wife, Mary Jane McMurry, has an aunt, Alethea McMurry Blackwell, that married William Thomas Stalcup around 1835 in Smith Co TN, the son of this Mary Elizabeth Stalcup, but I can't find a connection between the Burnett's and the Stalcup's other than James' wife's uncle by marriage is a Stalcup. So why was Mary Elizabeth Stalcup living with Thomas Houston Burnett instead of Mary Jane McMurry Burnett, a widow with small children living nearby? Can anyone shed light on this mystery?

I am looking for any information about FREDERICK, FOUST, HANKINS, SCOTT.
William Frederick was born about 1815, married Alcey FOUST about 1845.
Family info says he had brothers named James and John who were cobblers.
Alcey's mother was named Catherine, and she married second time John HANKINS. They had children: Roland, Samuel, Mary and Sina. After William died, Alcey married Pleasant Henderson SCOTT, a widower with children. The family moved to KY finally settling in Todd County, KY. Would appreciate any information about any of these people.

Subject: [TNSMITH-L] LUCKEY family

HI,
I am new to this list. I am seeking information on the JOHN LUCKEY ( or other Luckey's) of Smith Co. He enlisted in Smith Co. into Capt. James Walton's Co of Mounted Rifelmen about 24 Sep 1813 and served for 2 months in the War of 1812, (I have a copy of his pension papers) He lived near the Dekalb/Smith Co line in Alexandria. He supposedly was the deputy sheriff of Brush Creek, but I haven't seen this documented. In his widow's pension application- 2nd wife REBECCA CONDITT LUCKEY states that they were married in Smith Co 24 Jan 1828. It also states that he married his first wife MARY POLLY BAKER in Smith Co. It further states that both documents were proabably destroyed by the Union army when it occupied the courthouse during the later part of the Civil War. Children by his first wife Mary Polly Baker are:
1. Sarah (Sallie) ?Stillwell? Luckey m. John G. Davenport
2. Joseph Benjamen Luckey m. Susan Ann Baker 24 Dec 1845 Madison Co. TN
3. James Luckey
4. Levinia Luckey m. Andrew J. Pennington
5. Elmira (Amelia?) Luckey

Children by his2nd wife Rebecca Conditt are:
6. John F m. Jane Martha Smith
7. George m. Elizabeth?
8. Samuel F. m. Parilla Bridges
9/ Martha Jane
10. Mary
11. Amanda m. W.B. Bridges 25 Dec 1858 DeKalb Co.
12 William Harris m. Mattie
I would love to hear from anyone researching Luckey's in this area or Bridges, Smith's, Davenports, Penningtons, Conditts, Stillwells, or Bakers. I'm starting to believe that John hatched! I have a lot of info from Joseph on down, and a lot on Luckey's in the Rowan Co area of NC. He may of been in KY.
By looking at some of the other related families I'm hoping to locate something about John before 1813.
Thanks!!!
Teri

Trying to locate information on several units of Mounted Gunmen - Copeland's, Dyer's and Higgin's. Anyone have any resources. Know where these regiments were recruited from???
I know that SOME Dickson Co. people were in Dyer's but MY people were in Wilson and Smith Counties and were apparently in these various units.

Subject: [TNSMITH-L] re: Philips or Phillips

Does anyone have a Sally Philips or Phillips in their line who would have come to Wilson or Smith Co. before 1820. I have located a marriage for a Sally Philips or Phillips in Adair Co., Ky. who may provide the answer to my problem. she married there in 1802 and probably would have been in the general area of Wilson/Smith co. about 1806 or so.

Thank You.
Susan
