The DONNELL's that I have go back a little ways on my Maternal Grandfather's side. The earliest DONNELL that I have recorded is Adly DONNELL- I have no dates on him at all. I figure he was born around 1800 or so - perhaps a little later. He married someone named Mary ___. They had daughter Nancy DONNELL who married Jeremiah ARNOLD on March 19, 1846 in Wilson County, Tennessee.
  Our family records showed that Jeremiah ARNOLD was called "Jerry." Jeremiah and Nancy had a daughter, Elizabeth ARNOLD - born February 7, 1847; she died September 20, 1906, and is buried at Old Zion Cemetery in White County, Tennessee presumably.
Elizabeth had married Lawson CANTRELL (son of Smith CANTRELL and Minerva BLACKWELL), and they had daughter Millie CANTRELL on April 8, 1884. She died April 9, 1953 and is definitely buried at Old Zion Cemetery.
Millie had married a Ransom SIMPSON.
So, you see, I don't have a lot to go on as far as my Donnells go. If anyone could shed any light for me, I would greatly appreciate it Thank you so much.
