1850 Census Families Remembered
"Gone but not Forgotten," Residents of Dickson
County, TN, 1850
November 18, 1998.....St Petersburg, Florida:
Carolyn Nelson of St. Petersburg, Florida, is in the process of gathering
information for a book to be titled,
"Gone but not Forgotten," Residents of Dickson County, TN, 1850.
The book will contain information on each family in the 1850 Dickson County, Tennessee Census.
At this time, Carolyn estimates a two year publication date. She is doing much of the research herself, and invites those with Dickson County ancestors to share their family's information for the book.
Carolyn says, "I would like to include the name, address, and e-mail address
of any researcher who is seeking information on families that appear on the
1850 Dickson County Census. The listed researcher does not have to supply
me with information, but I will gladly accept help."
If you will e-mail her your specific names, she will check the 1850 Dickson County census to see if your families are listed and send you the family's numbers from the census listing. Then if you are interested in being listed in the book as a current researcher for that family, you can let her know.
She is hopeful that anyone with Dickson County TN ancestors will participate in this project by sharing info and/or by being listed as a family researcher.
This book will make a valuable reference and guide to families from Dickson County. Carolyn plans to document as much information as possible, but also stresses that as with any genealogy project of this nature, there is always a chance for error in the data submitted. However, a work of this nature can certainly be used as a "starting point" for research on the family lines included.
She has researchers already listed for about 120 of the 1080 families on the 1850 Dickson County, Tennessee census, and looks forward to hearing from others who are interested in participating and sharing information.
