I just found your genealogy pages for the first time. It is all very interesting and well done.

I would like to ask you to keep an eye out for my families which may connect to yours:

CLEMMONS--I believe John Clemmons who married Jane Pullen/Pulley in 1808 in Wilson Co, TN in 1808 may be my husband's ancestor--think she may be the Jane Clemens in Bedford Co, TN, dist 10, 1840 census and the Jane Clements living with George Clements in Davidson Co, TN in 1850. I would like to know if anyone else claims that John and Jane Clemmons and has ideas about where they went that conflict with my idea.

DANIEL--James Daniel (married Elizabeth Ragan), John Daniel (married Elizabeth Taylor) and Woodson Daniel (married Mary Smith) all appeared in the Yellow Creek area of Dickson Co, TN not later than the 1820 census. I think they are brothers, need their parents' names.

Any help you can give me will be most gratefully acknowledged.

Nancy,

Thanks a lot for posting my message. Either address is OK. I receive a  lot of mail at [email protected], so check that at least once, sometimes several times, a day. This one is new and I will probably be checking it more often as I receive more mail here.

Subject: [TNWILSON-L] Etheldred Clemmons and Edy Skeen

Arvil,

It was Etheldred J. Clemmons that threw me off. Etheldred D. Clemmons married Edith F. (Edy) Skeen 17 March 1872 according to Thelma Landrum's book. Ethledred D. was the grandson of Etheldred Clemmons who married Milly Hancock Edwards as his second wife. Etheldred D. Clemmons was the son of William Clemmons and Rachel Truett. He was born 7 April 1836, died 4 July 1919. He married first Matilda Spain 26 Sep 1860. They had one son, William S. Clemmons born Sep 1861. Etheldred D.'s second wife Edy Skeen was born in 1845 and died in 1920. They are both buried in Cedar Grove Cemetary. Their children were
Annie Jones Clemmons,
Dora Jane Clemmons,
Winnie Elizabeth Clemmons and
Mary Susan Clemmons.

I believe there is a copy of Thelma Landrum's book in the Wilson Co. Library on West Main St. and in the Tennessee State Library and Archives. Several of us are working on an updated version.
Etheldred, the son of Thompson Clemmons and Martha Coggins, was born 1784 in Montgomery Co., NC. According to Thelma, all of his children were born in Wilson Co., TN:

Jepthah 1806-1886
Martha 1808
William 1810-1882/83
James 1813-1860
John 1815-1884
Ehteldred Jr. 1820-1862 (m. Irene Thornton 18 March 1841 and was survived by her)
Axcy Mahala 1822
Elizabeth Jane 1824
