Our mission is to preserve and restore historical records in order to make information more accessible to everyone both within our archives and on the Internet for the purpose of historical and genealogical research.
The Friends of the Archives Historical and Preservation Society has been organized to do exactly as the name states...preserve historical data in Monroe County. We are in the process of applying for a not-for-profit status from both the Federal and State governments. Once this application is completed all donations will be deductible.
Newly elected officers are:
Mr. John Forkner, President
Mr. Joe Penland, Vice President
Mrs. Joyce Gaston Reece, Secretary
Mrs. Joy Locke, Co-Treasurer
