Miss Beulah SAVAGE, 17-year-old step-daughter of Henry GRIMES of the Eaton Community, committed suicide Sunday. The weapon used was a target rifle, and she live but a short time after firing the shot. No cause was given for the act.

Mrs. Joe BARKER, aged about 25 year, committed suicide Sunday night at her home in Alamo by taking carbolic acid. A husband and two small children survive. The remains were shipped here Monday and carried to Elizabeth for interment. She had many friends here where she formerly lived.

The little three year old son of Chas. BEASLEY of Bruceville was burned to death last week. The child was burning corn stalks when his clothing became ignited.

Mrs. C. H. FITZHUGH of Bruceville and Miss Tommie FITZHUGH of Halls were guests of E. A. ROBERTSON and family this week.

Mrs. J. W. HALL, formerly of this place, died Thursday at her home in Lepanto, Ark., after a brief illness of pneumonia. The remains were brought here Friday and interred at Antioch after funeral services conducted by Rev. C. E. NORMAN of this place. She was a member of the Christian church for 25 years and was a good christian woman and possessed many friends here. Two sons, Frank and Ed of Lepanto, Ark., and two daughters, Mrs. Flossie BARNES of Lepanto, Ark., and Mrs. Myrtle LATHAM of this community survive her.

Lonnie PARK of Eaton, Route 1, was in town Monday. Mr. PARK is interested in getting the rural mail line by which he is served, changed from Eaton to Friendship and nearly every patron of the route would like to see this change made.

Roy PEAL, former Friendship boy, writes us from Keshena, Wis., and encloses a check for a years subscription to the NEWS. He is working for Uncle Sam in the Department of the Interior, Indian Service. He writes "I need some news from my home town pretty bad. I am lonesome here now and believe me, it's some cold."
