Dee MEDLING of Crockett Mills who was shot by Dr. PERRY as the result of a difficulty that occurred during the holidays is getting along nicely and will recover. Dr. PERRY made bond in the sum of three thousand dollars and is now in Mississippi, his former home.

Dr. Louis L. HAMBURGER, Optician and Optometrist, will be in Friendship Tuesday, January 13, 1914 for one week.

A delightful entertainment was given at the home of Rev. C. E. MORGAN on the New Year's Evening in honor of Miss Willie LOVE. The hostess received the guest and as they entered each was requested to register with left hand. The best scripe was Miss Maud REED who won the prize, a box of candy. Dainty refreshments were served at a late hour. Those present were: Misses Patti BUTCHER, Reba SMITH, Maud REED, Annie Laurie LOVE, Ora JONES, Sallie WATSON, Messrs. Harry VINCENT, Eugene CRAIG, Clark PERRY, Robbie ROBERTSON, Willie CRAIG, Revelle FONES. All reported an enjoyable time.

F. T. ROOKS of the 11th district killed a Poland China sow Monday that netted 636 pounds and sold at ten cents, bringing him $63.60.

John CLARK was in Jackson last week.

Born last week to Mr. & Mrs. B. F. SUDBURY, a fine boy.

Thad HALEY was in Memphis last week.

Jerry SUDBURY has moved to town.

Hammie SCOTT of Halls was here Monday.

Mr. WINNINGHAM of Crockett Mills was in town yesterday.

W. P. SANDERS has moved to his old home at Gratio.

Rev. BARKER will preach at the New Opera House next Sunday morning and night.

Clyde LEATH of near Crockett Mills was here yesterday.

T. E. CHRISTIAN will sell a lot of good stock here on Saturday, January 17.

Mr. & Mrs. E. W. BOLING are the proud parents of a fine girl.

Born to Mr. & Mrs. Walter Bell of near town, a fine girl.

Little Miss Ida LOVE has been visiting her sister, Mrs. John LUCAS, in Jackson.

Paul SIMS and Roy WILCOX, types of the Maury City Republican were here Sunday.

Messrs. Will and Dave BOWEN were in Dyersburg Tuesday.

Johnny EDWARDS of Crockett Mills was in town yesterday.

Miss Ivye LOVE of Halls is the guest of Miss Willie LOVE.

Robert MAXWELL of Finley has purchased a half interest in the grocery business of Will MAXWELL and the firm will be known as Maxwell Bros.

Thomas HARWELL, former citizen of this place who resides at Stanton, was here last week.

Mrs. W. C. RIGGINS died very suddenly at her home near town Tuesday night. She has been in ill health for some time. She is survived by her husband and four sons. Interment at Zion's Hill today.

Mr. WRAY of Palestine, Texas, arrived in the city yesterday. He has purchased W. P. SANDERS' interest in the hardware store and the firm in the future will be known as Wray Bros.

C. J. ANDERSON is moving to Maury City today.
