Ed BOLING was stabbed and seriously wounded as a result of a difficulty with John and Charles LOVE Tuesday afternoon. The trial will be held Monday.

Messrs. Steel BOOTH and E. T. MAYS of Maury City were painfully injured in a runaway accident while returning from the picnic at this place last Friday. Mr. MAYS was thrown into a barbed wire fence and was considerably scratched up. The buggy was badly wrecked.

Harry K. THAW, the sane murderer of Stanford WHITE, who has had the pleasant job of playing crazy for several year, escaped from Matteanwan asylum Sunday morning in an automobile. It was a big news story -- box car headlines adorned the front page of every American daily. Money and prominence make a mighty big racket. Mrs. William THAW, mother of Harry K. THAW, has spent approximately $1,025,000. in trying to secure the freedom of her boy since he killed Stanford WHITE in 1906.

Workmen have been tearing down the walls of the ruined buildings on Depot Street. The Quality Drug Company will rebuild on the same plan of the building recently destroyed, which was considered the best building in the town. Charles IRVAN, the contractor of Dyer, has the contract to rebuild.

Dr. Thomas GROUNDS will rebuild a two-room brick and with his son, Victor, will reopen a gents' furnishing store and will rent one side of the building.

Depot Street will soon begin to look businesslike again and will have some of the nicest establishments of the city.

New Two-Story Building On Old Hotel McCanless Lot

Contractor Davis of this place has secured the contract for the building of new hotel for John McCANLESS on the lot where the Hotel McCanless was recently destroyed by fire. The building will be a 15-room two-story building and will cost between $3,500 and $4,000. The building will be one of the nicest hotel building in the county and will be nicely furnished. The foundation is being laid this week.
