Elmer HUTCHISON, aged 23, died Sunday near Bonicord. He leaves his wife. Interment at Hurricane Nukks Monday.

Charles SWEARENGIN, aged 23, was drowned in the Forked Deer River at Dyersburg Monday while in swimming. His home was in McKenzie.

Col. W. W. BISHOP, the famous land auctioneer, dropped dead in the office of the Commercial at Union city Monday. Heart failure.

Master Fred OAKLEY of Jackson visited at the home of Dr. Thos. GROUNDS this week.

Tom WALKER Jr. and family of near Bonicord visited relatives here Sunday.

Rev. T. W. SMITH of Alamo visited relatives near town last week.

Mrs. N. E. EUBANKS of Doddsville, Miss. visited Mr. & Mrs. Victor GROUNDS.

C. C. WHITTLE returned last week from a visit to relatives in Kentucky.

R. G. BRASSFIELD and wife visited Mr. & Mrs. Will MAXWELL Saturday night.

Mrs. Bertha BLURTON and children of Bells spent last week in the home of B. H. PERRY.

Mrs. Mollie CRAIG of Friendship is visiting her sister, Mrs. David DODSON.

George COPHER visited in Alamo Saturday and Sunday.

Mr. & Mrs. W. H. KEATHLY of Trimble visited the latter's father, L. B. HARWELL, last week.

Mrs. C. C. SMITH and daughter, Mrs. GRAYSON of Friendship visited in the homes of Mr. R. D. BRYANT and Mrs. S. A. SANFORD this week.

Floyd CHANDLER visited his mother at Whiteville this week, who is very sick.

Miss Ruby GRIFFIN visited her sister in Stanton for several days.

Miss Dora BOWEN left Tuesday for San Angelo, Texas.

W. W. SPENCE of near Chestnut Bluff was in town Saturday.

Col. Tom FERGUSON of Dyersburg was in the city Monday.

Horace PARK, the popular Bells druggist, was the guest of his father, Hon. J. F. PARK, Monday.

Prof. YOUNG of Elizabeth neighborhood was in town Monday.

Mrs. Timothy GRIFFIN visited her daughter in Dyersburg last week.

Charles DANIEL of the First District of Dyer County brought to our office Monday, June 30th the first cotton bloom of the season.

Rev. W. J. Gambel brought in the second bloom Tuesday.
