DEATH... JAMES JESSE MANLEY, 71, died at his home in Humboldt Friday. He was born and reared in Crockett County, son of the late JESSE & SUSAN WILLIAMS MANLEY and farmed until he retired a few years ago and moved to Humboldt. His wife, Mrs. AUDIE WEATHERLY MANLEY; two daughters, Miss BETTIE MANLEY and Mrs. E. B. SMITH; and son, ALVIN MANLEY, all of Humboldt survive.

DEATH... J. H. HITER, 70, died Friday at Memorial Hospital, Jackson. Services Sunday at Hays Avenue Methodist Church, burial in Pond Creek Cemetery. Born and reared in Crockett County, he had lived in Jackson for the past three years. He leaves his wife, Mrs. IRENE VAN DYKE HITER; three daughters, Mrs. T. R. O'BANYEL of Memphis, Mrs. L. E. PEVAHOUSE of Parsons, and Mrs. C. V. COLLINS of Jacksonville, Fla. ; a brother, Everett HITER of Bells; three sisters, Mrs. H. C. JONES and Miss PEARL HITER, both of Memphis and Mrs. BETTY CASEY of Texas.

DEATH... Services for Mrs. MILLIE ODELL PRIVETT, who died Tuesday at her home in the 14th District were held Wednesday at Johnson Grove Baptist Church, burial in Alamo Cemetery. She was a native of Henderson County. She was 46 years of age. She is survived by her husband, JIM PRIVETT; two children, MILDRED FAY PRIVETT and JAMES RICHARD PRIVETT; two sisters, Mrs. BROOHSIE BROGDEN of Humboldt and Miss GENEVA HALLBROOK of Boliver; and one brother, CURTIS HALLBROOK of Trenton.

ALAMO... Mrs. A. L. COLTRAIN received a message Sunday that her mother, Mrs. W. J. LLOYD had passed away at Groverland, Fla. Mrs. COLTRAIN'S sister, Mrs. W. E. DAVIS of Memphis and brother, Mr. WILLIE SCOTT of Sharon left at once for Florida to attend the funeral.

DEATH... Services for Mrs. Sarah MELISSA WALLACE, who died at the home of her grandson in Maury City, A. H. (?) HILL, JR., Wednesday May 3rd were held Thursday at Brownsville Funeral Home Chapel, burial in Oakwood Cemetery. She was 86. A life long resident of Haywood County. She had lived in the home of her grandson for the past 18 years. She leaves three sisters, Mrs. MARY BRUMMETT of Rutherford, Mrs. JOSIE PARNELL of Tiptonville, and a sister in Mo.

DEATH... Services for Mrs. SARA JANE GUINN were held Friday at the Church of Christ in Tigrett, burial in Indian Creek Cemetery near Covington. She died at her home near Friendship Thursday night, she was 79. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. E. L. DEAN of Millington, Mrs. OSCAR GRIGGS & Mrs. H. C. EVANS of Friendship; a son, LITT GUINN of Friendship; and 31 grandchildren.

DEATH... Services were held on Tuesday at the Bethesda Methodist Church near Friendship for NEWT H. HARBER, burial in church cemetery. He was 78. He was a retired farmer and landowner. He moved to Crockett Mills from Kansas at the age of 18. He leaves his wife, Mrs. CATHERINE FULLER HARBER of Alamo; three sons, GORDON HARBER of Trenton, HAMLET HARBER of Newbern, and CONNIE HARBER of Memphis; three daughters, Mrs. MARVIN MANSFIELD and Mrs. BEECHER SKELTON of Alamo and Mrs. HOMER CROSSNOE of Bells; one brother, GEORGE HARBER of Toronto, Kansas.

DEATH... CHARLIE McMACKIN, well-known Lauderdale County farmer died late Saturday night at the home of his sister, Mrs. E. E. GRENN of Tigrett. His body was sent to Iron City, Tenn., for services Tuesday, burial at Mt. Nebo Cemetery there. He was 67. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. ALLEN FORBES of Guinea Mills, Va.; a son, RAY RHODES of Iron City; and three other sisters, Mrs. R. L. WILLIS of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Miss Ida McMACKIN of Tigrett and Mrs. Fannie PALMER of Dyersburg.

She was 77. She was born in Crockett County, a Memphis resident about 20 years, the widow of PINK SIMMONS. She leaves four daughters, Mrs. MARY B. MILLER and Mrs. BESSIE FLY of Memphis, Mrs. MAUD SHAW of Fruitvale and Mrs. BROOKSIE RICHARD of Olive Branch, Miss.; four sons, A. D. BLURTON and ROBERT BLURTON of Memphis, LYNN BLURTON of Trenton and WALLACE BLURTON of Fruitvale; two brothers, VERNON JONES of Jackson and Tom JONES of Boothspoint, Tenn.; one sister, Mrs. OLLIE HUBBARD of Flint, Michigan; 30 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.

DEATH... B. CLYDE LEATH, age 80, died Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. A. TERRY in Alamo. He was married to Miss ETTIE MOORE, daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. W. A. MOORE. Mrs. LEATH died in June 1948. Four sons, WILLIE LEATH of Chicago, Jim B. LEATH of Crockett Mills, FINIS LEATH and CLYDE LEATH JR., of Alamo; one daughter, Mrs. M. A. TERRY of Alamo; 7 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild survive. Services were held Saturday at alamo Church of Christ, burial in Alamo.

Services for THOMAS T. CRABTREE who died at his home near Bells Wednesday of last week were held at the Walnut Hill Baptist Church, burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery. He was 53. He leaves his wife, Mrs. LAVERNE CRABTREE; three daughters, Mrs. BILLIE NEAL WEBB, Miss MARY CRABTREE, and Miss LOYCE ANN CRABTREE, all of Bells; two sons, THOMAS CRABTREE JR., of Lynn Grove, Ky., and DAYMON CRABTREE of Miami; two brothers, NEIL SHERROD and SAM SHERROD of Bells; and a sister, Mrs. MARY LEE COX of Jackson.

Mrs. LOFTIS is the former DORIS FAY WAINWRIGHT, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Hal D. WAINWRIGHT and she named her baby MELINDA FAY LOFTIS.
