DEATH... Services for HORACE ELBERT CROWE, 48, were held today at Westover Baptist Church, burial in Hollywood Cemetery. Mr. CROWE, a roller operator in the maintenance crew of the Tennessee Highway Dept., received fatal injuries when he fell from a moving roller Thursday afternoon. Born in Crockett County, son of the late FRANK & SUSIE CROWE, he moved to Madison 40 years ago. He leaves his wife, Mrs. LYDIA MAE ACRED CROWE; one son, HORACE ACRED CROWE; four brothers, WALTER CROWE of Pinson, HENRY CROWE and CHESTER CROWE both of Jackson and SAM CROWE of Bemis; and one sister, Mrs. J. C. CASEY of Pinson.

DEATH... Services for WILLIAM ARTHUR HOPPER, who died at his home in Dyer Thursday were held Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Dyer. He was born and reared in Crockett County and was a son of the late THOMAS PLEASANT & MISSOURI MOBLEY HOPPER. He was a brother of the late MONT HOPPER of Gadsden; and Uncle of BILLY & McNEIL HOPPER of Alamo.

DEATH... MRS. WILLIE ANN SPRAGGINS passed away at her home in the Liberty Bell community near Gadsden Tuesday, May 30th. Services were held Wednesday at the Gadsden Methodist Church, burial in Salem Cemetery. She leaves one girl, Miss MAIE SPRAGGINS of Gadsden; two sons, Lyle SPRAGGINS & MOORE WILLIAMS of Memphis; five grandchildren, Mrs. GENROSE PIERCY of Bells, Mrs. SAM SULLIVAN of McKenzie, LYLE CHRISTIAN SPRAGGINS of Gadsden, ROBERT MOORE WILLIAMS & Mrs. FORREST HALEY of Memphis; one great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. LUCY LYNN of Gadsden; and one brother, J. He was 49. He leaves his wife, Mrs. MAMIE COX; three daughters, Mrs. JOHNNY SALVI, Paducah, Ky., MAMIE JO COX & NANCY COX of Coxville; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. E. S. DEATH... Services for JOHN MANSFIELD, farmer of near Maury City were held Sunday at Floyd's Chapel Methodist Church, burial in church cemetery. He died at his home near Friendship Saturday. He was 79 and a lifelong resident of Crockett County. He leaves his wife, Mrs. ANNIE BLACKWELL MANSFIELD; four daughters, Mrs. J. L. JONES, & Mrs. RUSSELL HART of Memphis; Mrs. H. E. BARNETT of Carythersville, Mo., and Mrs. J. L. MANGRUM of Dyersburg; a sister, Mrs. DICK VAUGN of Gates; two brothers, JOE MANSFIELD of Friendship and Tom MANSFIELD of Halls.

DEATH... Miss ERNESTINE WARFIELD passed away at her home Thursday , services were held Friday at her home, burial in Riverside Cemetery in Jackson. Miss "TINE" came to Bells several tears ago to make her home. She was from a family of thirteen children and her sister, Mrs. L. H. HARRIS of Shreveport, La., is the only member of the family surviving.

Born and reared in the Sorrell's Chapel Community, he lived in Steele, Mo. for a number of years before establishing his home in Friendship. He leaves his wife, Mrs. NANCY E. HARRIS;three sons, Joe HARRIS of Dyersburg, TOM HARRIS of Washington, D. C., and W. H. HARRIS of Washington, D. He was 44. DEATH... Mrs. EDITH MONTGOMERY died Monday night at St. Joseph Hospital. She was 64. She made her home with a sister-in-law, Mrs. DORA ELLIS ROYSTER; born in Charleston, Mo., and spent most of her early life in Humboldt, Tenn. Her husband was ISAAC K. MONTGOMERY, a druggist here for many years, who died 12 years ago. She moved to Memphis in 1914. She leaves a brother, CHARLES H. ELLIS of Dermett, Ark. Her body was brought back to Bells and buried in the MONTGOMERY family plot.

DEATH... Services for Capt. ERNEST E. EMISON, Jr., retired Air Force officer were held Monday at the Bells Methodist Church, burial in Belleview Cemetery. He was 35, and he died at Thayer General Hospital in Nashville Saturday. Relatives said his death was a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident two years ago. He was born in Memphis, educated in Bells, and entered the Air Force in 1941, serving overseas for 39 months. He was injured while serving as personnel director at Richmond, Va. Air Force Base. He leaves his parents, Mr. & Mrs. E. E. EMISON of Nashville; a sister, Mrs. CAROL E. MORROW, Jr., of Clarksville; and a brother, R. A. EMISON of Nashville.

She was 74. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. ISAAC NICHOLS of Dyersburg and Mrs. SAM BURNETT of Tigrett; four sons, OLLIE ASHLEY of Kenton, WEBB ASHLEY of Newbern, JOHN ASHLEY & HOLLIS ASHLEY both of Tigrett; one sister, Mrs. GEORGE HUDSON of Brazil, Tenn. ;one brother, BEN TREADWELL of Flatwood; 21 grandchildren.

DANIEL-SMITHMIER... In a quiet but impressive ceremony Sunday evening, June 25th, Miss VELDA SMITHMIER became the bride of NEWBERN DANIEL in the Methodist Church at Maury City. Rev. L. A. SMITHMIER, pastor and father of the bride performed the ceremony. Her brother, Rev. J. L. SMITHMIER gave her in marriage.
