DEATH... Mrs. Myrtle Esther ROGERS, wife of W. E. ROGERS, died last Thursday morning at Crockett Mills. Services were held Friday at the Christian Church in Crockett Mills, burial in Crockett Mills Cemetery. She leaves her husband; eight children, Mrs. Ivan CASTELLAW of Alamo, Mrs. Ludeen HUDSON of Dyersburg, Mrs. Vester GRAY of Illinois, Mrs. Violet SANBOND of California, Mrs. George MADDOX of Dyersburg, J. W. ROGERS of Detroit, James ROGERS of Crockett Mills, and Gerald ROBERTS of Camp Hood, Texas; a brother, Tom MOORE of Sikeston, MO; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen GEORGE and Mrs. Sally RAY of Kennett, MO.

DEATH... Services for Mrs. Lillie TURNER of Alamo, who died at a hospital in Jackson Saturday night was held Monday at Alamo Methodist Church, burial in Cairo Cemetery. She was 69. She leaves he husband, John TURNER; three daughters, Mrs. J. W. MAYFIELD of Alamo, Mrs. R. C. FRANKS of Milan, and Mrs. Sanders LEWIS of Bells; three sons, Colie TURNER, John Henry TURNER and Reams Turner of Alamo; a brother, Troy AVERY of Alamo.

DEATH... Services were held Wednesday at the Pond Creek Methodist Church for John L. CLEEK, who died of a heart attack Tuesday at his home near Alamo, burial in Pond Creek Cemetery. He was 74. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Hill GREER of Brownsville and Mrs. J. N. PUCKETT of Memphis; two sons, Dennis CLEEK and John L. CLEEK, Jr. , of Alamo.

DEATH... Vicki Dawn CRUM, 15-months-old daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Tom CRUM died at the Methodist Hospital, Memphis Saturday. Services were held at East Side Methodist Church, Dyersburg, burial in Sudbury Cemetery. She leaves her parents of Dyersburg; a sister, Sherry of Dyersburg; her grandmother, Mrs. Marshell READ of Stokes and her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Frank YOUNG of Stokes.

DEATH... Services were held this afternoon (Thursday) at the Cross Roads Baptist Church for Mrs. Edna Geneva SNYDER, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert CORNATZER of Bemis, Tenn. , Wednesday, burial in Robertson Cemetery. She was 42. She leaves her husband, Clarence SNYDER; four daughters, Mrs. Leroy HILLIARD of Dyersburg, Mrs. Robert CORNATZOR of Bemis, Mrs. Harry CROWE of Bells and Annette SYNDER of Bells; her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth BUCKINGHAM of Dyersburg; two brothers, Buster BUCKINGHAM of Bells and Carmack BUCKINGHAM of Dyersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Arlie SHULTZ of Memphis and Mrs. Gene BRIDGES of Camden, Tenn.

DEATH-GUY NELSON WALDRON... Services were held on Jan. 15th in Bethel Methodist Church near French Camp, Miss. , burial in Bethel Cemetery. He was 67, born and reared in Crockett County. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Alma WALDRON; one daughter, Mrs. Sam DAY of French Camp; three sons, Nelson WALDRON of California, J. H. WALDRON of Baton Rogue, La. , and Arkell WALDRON of North Carrollton, Miss. ; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Aubrey WALDRON; two sisters, Mrs. J. P. FEWELL and Mrs. W. M. KLYCE of Alamo.

THURSDAY JANUARY 26, 1950

DEATH... Fred Jack AGEE, 41, well-known employee of the Newbern, TN Sales Co. , was struck and killed by an Illinois Central passenger train in Newbern Tuesday morning. Services were held Wednesday in the Newbern Church of Christ, burial in Newbern Fairview Cemetery. He was enroute across the tracks to the bank, he stopped in the center of the east track to wait for a south-bound freight to pass when a north-bound passenger train which he apparently didn't hear struck him. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Willie AGEE of Newbern; a son, Fred Jack AGEE, Jr. ; a daughter, Mrs. Jimmy LITTLETON of Memphis; and his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Jeff AGEE of Halls.

BIRTHDAY... Mr. & Mrs. Ashley SCOTT of Gates entertained Sunday with a 1 o'clock dinner, honoring the 70th birthday of Mrs. SCOTT's mother, Mrs. Lessie LEWIS of Bells.

BIRTHDAY... The 90th birthday of Mrs. Church PEAL was celebrated on January 20th in the home of her sister, Mrs. Dixie THOMPSON, where Mrs. PEAL has lived for the past nine years. In addition her three sisters, Mrs. Joe McPHERSON, Mrs. Anna GIBBONS and Mrs. THOMPSON, who all live in the same home; her brother, J. F. STALLINGS and wife of Brownsville; daughter, Mrs. O. L. DODDS of Rutherford and neice, Mrs. Herbert EARNHEART of Maury City enjoyed the luncheon. Later her daughters, Mrs. W. B. WHAREY and Mr. WHAREY, Mrs. M. D. INGRAM and Dr. INGRAM of Trenton came completing her immediate family circle. A granddaughter, Mrs. S. B. WILLIS of Rutherford sent a cake.
