Above, Madison County Mayor Jimmy D. Harris congratulates Bill King on the work that was done in restoring the church and cemetery which led to the marking ceremony.  At right Bill King rings the church bell.  To briefly hear the bell, click here.

At right, the Cemetery quietly awaits the unveiling of the marker.

Below, State President Lynda Logan removes the marker cover with the help of chapter member Jo Ann Birmingham who then accepted the marker on behalf of the Big Black Creek Historical Association.





The reception following the marking was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson in Toone, Tennessee.  The house sits on a hill overlooking fields and was a perfect place to enjoy the delicious food and excellent company.
