HISTORIC PRESERVATION MEDAL & CERTIFICATE AWARDED |
The
National Society of the DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN
REVOLUTION. Presley M. Wagoner, President General
NSDAR and Ann Salley Crider, National Chairman of
the American Heritage Committee Dedicated to the
Preservation of our American Heritage: Its Built and
Natural Environments Presents this certificate to
ROBERT B. ELLISON in Recognition of Outstanding
Achievement in Historic Preservation. The years of
Historic Preservation began in 2000 to present for
Mr. Ellison. The Criteria Focus on Historic
Preservation of the recipient was to restore or
preserve objects of historic cultural significance,
undertook youth leadership or education, as it
pertains to historic preservation. The major
historic preservation work was accomplished through
the establishment and continued efforts of the Union
County Cemeteries Association. Thru his guidance of
locating, identification, documentation and
publication the preservation of our ancestral
cemeteries will be a visual genealogical tool for
future generations. His Historic Preservation
efforts are by no means limited to cemeteries. A
letter of recommendation was written by Joyce P.
Watson, President Claiborne County Cemeteries
Association who wrote that Robert's interest and
desire to preserve historic local landmarks came to
her knowledge when he approached her to organize a
cemetery association in Claiborne County. Mr.
Ellison, during acceptance recognized the different
organizations whose contribution continue these
efforts. |
