Eaton's Crossroads

Civil War

On November 15, 1863,General Longstreet crossed to the north side of the Tennessee River near Loudon on the  He camped overnight at Eaton's Crossroad.  His army would ecounter General Burnside's army at the Battle of Campbell Station the next day.

A postoffice in the northern part of Loudon, county 8 miles from London, the county seat, and 250 from Nashville by railroad. Mail semi weekly: AC Eaton postmaster
