This web site is a work in progress. Im working my way through three boxes of handwritten letters and clipped newspaper articles dating from the 1830s through roughly 1920.
The Duffy Papers are comprised of letters, a family bible, newspaper clippings and other documents written by or about descendants of Charles Duffy who immigrated to America circa 1826 from Killygordon, County of Donegal, Parish of Donaughmore, Ireland, following in the footsteps of his son Francis Duffy who came to America in 1819 and settled in Hartsville, Sumner County (now Trousdale County), Tennessee.

Charles Duffy's headstone reputedly states "brother-in-law to pioneer Hugh Rogan"
