Dr. Morgan Brown's wife Elizabeth Little was a descendant of King Robert II of Scotland. Morgan W. Brown was a U.S. District Court Judge from 1834 until his death in 1853.

My ancestor the Rev. Dr. Lewis Sells Ashbaugh was a Captain in Company A, 93rd Regiment, Illinois Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. His regiment was ordered to Memphis, with my 6th cousin General Grant's army on November 9, 1862. The son of Lewis who was my gr gr grandfather Henry Clay Ashbaugh also fought for the Union Army.

Lewis Sells Ashbaugh had two brothers, Dr. Frederick and Dr. Armenius Ashbaugh living in Ohio during the Civil War. They were both involved in the operation of the Underground Railroad. When I visited Dublin, Ohio (founded by my ancestor Ludwick Sells) we found one of the houses near the Scioto River that was used as a transfer point. This house was built by my relative Charles Sells in 1822 and became the home of Dr. Eli Morrison Pinney in 1842.
