Victor Edward & Alice Linea (PERSON) GUTZWILLER

5 May 1936 - Columbus, NE
at Federated Church

Witnesses: Al Person and Evelyn Stromberg
(Al was Alice's eldest brother.
Evelyn was half-sister of Al Person's wife Ethel
and played softball with Alice.)
Alice made her own dress. Flowers were from Anderson's.
(Friends of Ellen Person, Alice's older sister).

Honeymoon trip was to Cambridge where Vic talked to Judge Perry &
other friends of his Uncle Vic. No copy of the will could be found.
Alicia Schober had filed for intestate hearing. There was nothing but hearsay about the will and
Vic Schober's plans to start a ranching operation with his two nephews.
(Believe he had purchased three farms with the goal in mind.)
Vic Gutzwiller needed to get to California to take over the orange grove inherited from his
Grandparents Gassmann. Alternative, to sell the California property.
Grandpa Schober thought they should go to California, so they packed what would
fit in a trailor, and left. Reached San Bernardino on 15 May 1936.
Had just arrived at the Gassman place when Grandpa Schober had a stroke.
He couldn't walk, and spoke only Austrian German (didn't exactly approve of the Swedish bride!)
