McAdams - McCue Virtual Family Reunion

Owen McAdams

Owen McAdams was born 1851-4 in Castleshane County Monaghan - Ireland to Edward McAdams and Susan Lenan. It's possible a McCue connection in Ireland drew him to Cleveland. He, along with a James, seemed to have immigrated directly to Cleveland (Cuyahoga) around 1875, where he married Mary McCue a year later. Owen and James are listed on the McAdams Historical Society site under McAdams Immigration - Ohio. Tim McAdams writes:

We've been in contact with a researcher in Ireland about McAdam in that location and time. Our local (Cleveland) family stories indicate that Owen was brother to Alice McAdams in Cleveland, who became an Ursuline nun. The Ursuline records indicate that Edward and Susan were her parents.

Maureen Maruna writes:

I have a possible connection to Allegheny Co, PA. My great-grandfather, Owen McAdams, b. Ireland married Mary McCue, in Cleveland, Ohio. Mary was born between 1856 and 1858 in in Allegheny County, PA to Daniel McCue and Mary Sewell. Owen McAdams and Mary appear in the 1880 Cleveland census with a 3 yr. old child, who was born in Cleveland.

Daniel Edward McAdams (who went by Edward), the oldest son of Owen and Mary, was born in Cleveland, Ohio, 1876. He married Lillie Allen born abt. 1879. Lillie was an orphan - parents unknown - birth place unknown.

Thanks to Maureen Maruna and her brother Tim McAdams for sharing this information about this family.
