George McAdams was born in Scotland. Sarah was born in Pennsylvania in June 1858. In the 1900 Census, Sarah was living with her children on Fountain Street in Allegheny City. The fact that she was head of household suggests that she was widowed at that time. The birthdate of the youngest child, James, makes the date of George's death uncertain, but George was certainly deceased by 1919 when the City Directory lists only one family spelled McAdam without the "s":
McAdam, Harry, glass wkr, r 1304 Buena Vista
" Jas, uphol, r 1304 Buena Vista
" Sarah (wid Geo), h 1304 Buena Vista
George and Sarah had ten children, all born in Pennsylvania.
